The Legal Bit

(terms and conditions)

We are Yarnworthy. When you shop with us or use our services or websites, these terms apply. They’re important for both us and you (all and any person/s viewing the website and/or using our services). They set out what we can expect from each other, as well as other useful information.

By browsing this website or using our services, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below. If there are any terms and conditions which you are unable or unwilling to comply with, please discontinue using this website and/or our services.

This website is for general use and information only. These terms and conditions may change from time to time without notice, so we recommend checking back regularly.

Each item is lovingly made by us from our home in Shropshire, UK. The yarn is dyed in small batches and quality checked during the process and before dispatch to you. Whilst we always aim for perfection, due to the nature of hand dyeing, each and every skein will be completely unique, even from the same dye batch. Some skeins may have slight spots or speckles or areas where the dye has broken. This is part of the beauty and character of hand dyed yarn. If you are looking for yarn with a specific project in mind, we would recommend buying all of the yarn you think you will need in one go, for as close a match as possible and as we cannot guarantee that we will always carry the same yarn and/or colourways in the future. If you are concerned about yarn pooling or differences between skeins being noticeable, we would also recommend alternating skeins. You can find out more about our yarns here and our dyes here. Please note the comments in relation to dyes bleeding and/or crocking. Please also note the recommended care instructions detailed on this website and your skein of yarn. All pages of our website also form part of our terms and conditions.

We take great care and attention in ensuring that our photographs are as accurate a representation as possible of the yarn. However, please bear in mind that colours can appear different on monitors/device screens and slight variations can also occur in the dye process. Care has also been taken to produce accurate text descriptions of each product.

Orders

Once an order has been placed, we are unfortunately unable to amend it. If you place multiple orders, you can contact us here and we will try to combine postage where possible and if your earlier order has not already been dispatched. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to do this.

Promo Codes

From time to time we may use promo codes that can reduce the price of specified products. It is up to you to make sure that you have entered the promo code at the checkout. Any promo code may also have its own terms set out. If we believe that a promo code has been misused, we reserve the right to cancel your promo code.

Delivery (excluding Print on Demand)

You will be given postal options for your location at checkout based on the weight of your order. UK orders are usually shipped by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Other postal options will be shown at the checkout, if available at that time. All international orders are currently being sent by Royal Mail International Tracked postal service. At this time, we are not offering untracked international post. Please note that all postal options are for orders up to 2kg total parcel weight. If you would like to place a larger order, please let us know via the contact page and we will send you a bespoke quote. We aim to dispatch all stocked items within 7 days, with the exception of custom orders. We will contact you directly to let you know the likely dispatch time for any custom order.

Please note that if you are placing an international order, customs charges may apply and we are not responsible for, nor are we able to control custom fees payable by you outside of the UK.

From 1 July 2021 EU customers will be responsible for any applicable VAT on import to your Country; at this time we are unable to apply any relevant VAT at point of sale and we are therefore unable to advise as to what the VAT payable will be. The VAT charged will be in addition to any customs charges, handling fees, taxes, tariffs etc. applicable to your Country, which you will also be responsible for. Please note that there is no longer a VAT exemption orders totalling a value less than £20/€22.

In the event that items are returned by the postal carrier/s due to unpaid customs charges/fees/taxes/duties etc, we will contact you to discuss how you wish to proceed. If you no longer wish to keep your order, your order will be refunded, less any postal charges and expenses incurred by us in relation to your order. If you would like your order to be re-sent, the delivery charge element of the order will need to be repaid.

Returns (excluding Print on Demand)

If you are unhappy with your yarn for any reason, please contact us.

Any yarn that is unused and is in its original packaged condition, may be returned to us for an exchange or refund within 14 days. Please note that we cannot accept yarn that is not in a re-saleable condition. This includes yarn that has been unwound/wound into a ball or used and/or yarn that has been exposed to, and/or smells of smoke. The only exception to this, is where you experience a problem with the yarn. In this case, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve any issues.

We are unable to accept any returns of custom orders, so please bear this in mind when ordering. Again, this does not apply in the event of a problem and in which case, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve any issues.

Please note that, unless there is a fault with your yarn, the cost of returning the items will be your responsibility. We recommend that you use a recorded service for returning any items and/or obtain proof of postage.

Items from outside of the UK will need to be clearly marked with “returned merchandise” on the customs form to ensure that further customs charges are not applied when it arrives back in the UK. In the event that your customs form has been completed incorrectly, we cannot be responsible for any return parcels and/or charges and Royal Mail will return your parcel to you.

Print on Demand Delivery

All Print on Demand items (merchandise including but not limited to jumpers/sweatshirts, hoodies, notepads, cups and travel mugs, notebooks, flags, t-shirts etc.) are shipping directly from the supplier. Estimated shipping times are shown within the individual product listings.

All Print on Demand items are currently only available within the UK. If you would like to place an order and reside outside of the UK, please contact us. We can place an order to be delivered to us, which can then be sent on to you. Although, this will incur additional shipping charges (shipping to us and then to you) and as such, an extended turnaround time.

Print on Demand Returns

No returns can be accepted for Print on Demand items. According to Article 16(c) and (e) of the Directive 2011/83/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights, the right of withdrawal may not be provided for:

1. the supply of goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalised;
2. sealed goods which were unsealed after delivery and thus aren't suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons.

Any claims for misprinted/damaged/defective items must be submitted within 30 days after the product has been received. For packages lost in transit, all claims must be submitted no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date. Claims deemed an error on the supplier’s part are covered at their expense.

Wrong Address - If you provide an address that is considered insufficient by the courier, the shipment will be returned to the supplier’s facility. You will be liable for reshipment costs once they have confirmed an updated address with you (if and as applicable).

Unclaimed - Shipments that go unclaimed are returned to the supplier’s facility and you will be liable for the cost of a reshipment (if and as applicable).
